Literacy project for rural Nepali women {
Women in Nepal's rural communities are mainly un-educated; they care for the family and farm whilst their husbands work in other countries. The wives cannot read their husbands letters. Providing literacy classes will help women understand what their children are learning at school.This project will benefit 200 disadvantaged women who live in remote villages in West Nepal who determined the need for the project. Resolve international's local partner conducted a needs assessment to determine which women need help. A new society will be formed to encourage marginilised women to access the service and it benefits.A facilitator will work with the Sima women's group to manage the project and collaborate with the District Women's Development Office and Small Scale Industries Office to provide life skills for women who increase their literacy levels.39 pounds will sponsor one place on the literacy course. |
