Improve the health of the nation
We are working in partnership with a range of partners to develop sport leadership training which will result in high performance athletes.Emma James, twice World Champion weightlifter and current 90kg bench press world record holder (2008) volunteered her skills in sports psychology to aid the progress of the Nepal National Sports Council’s ‘Vision 200’.The aim is to use sport to increase national pride by winning Nepal’s first Olympic medals at the 2020 games.
The weightlifters also benefited from Emma’s practical coaching.
Vision 2020 also aims to improve the health of the nation through sport. This year one of Emma’s personal goals is entering women’s Hammer Throwing. Emma is being coached by the London Hammer School with view to entering the Commonwealth Games. Resolve International also arranged for Emma to give lectures to staff and students engaged in P.E teacher training in the Sport Department at Tribhuvan University.
Students at the British School in Kathmandu enjoyed entertaining and educational input from Emma James.
Emma found some time to enjoy the social and tourist side of Kathmandu and she found her trip to Nepal professionally rewarding and personally uplifting; she is planning her next trip!
