Toilets: no-one really wants to talk about them, but they can save lives and prevent illness.
Thirty people lived in this house with no toilet or stove. Without a toilet people are forced to use open ground which can contaminate the water supply, spreading diseases, causing illnesses that kill. The most common is diarrhoea, it’s the biggest child killer in developing countries, killing a child every 15 seconds worldwide.
This project is focused on working directly with the people of a poor rural village where the people try to earn a living as tailors. There are currently no toilets in the village. The villagers are eager and willing and will provide the labour. So the money we want to raise is for materials. £49 will provide the materials for a family to build a toilet. News Flash Working in partnership with Bhimapokhara Yuva Club, Resolve International are moving closer to having helped 100 of the poorest families construct external toilet buildings. Improved sanitation means: - Reduced child and adult mortality.
- Better health for all, more energy and time to earn a vital living.
- Money that would have been used for medicine available for other essentials.
- Better quality of life.
Resolve International needs your help to build 200 more toilets for the poorest families in the district. We also helped Shree Kakling Secondary School in Doramba provide toilets for their pupils.
